Friday, December 09, 2011 -- TIM from Summer Cup
Ok, guys, got a few teams now confirming for next year, can you please speak to or ask your managers/game coordinators to get in touch if you would like to participate next year, as spaces are filling up
Wednesday, August 17, 2011 -- Scott from Swindon
its called a little skate tap to give you that little bit of extra room next time round at a face off, nobody falls over from it so to say Kicked and talk about Dereck Sutton is ridiculous Wayne but if that your thoughts on me then that life
Wednesday, August 17, 2011 -- Wayne from Cardiff
"bump" : is that the noise of a Cardiff player hitting the ice after you have kicked/taken their skates from under them Scott? It was clearly seen from the balcony and also the game in Cardiff. As an ex-pro, that isn't the example you should be setting for the guys looking to go onto enl. Didn't you see what happened to dereck Sutton? That causes serious injuries!! Hopefully there will be 3 refs for the final and you won't try to get away with it again. Other than that, it was a good performance from Swindon. I liked the way Cardiff still partied like rockstars though.

Saturday, July 30, 2011 -- mccarthy#50 from cardiff titans
scott you were serious enough when you were cheap shotting in swindon and from what i have heard throughout your semi/pro career you were quite happy to talk/whine about rules and regulations! in fact heres your version of your match reprot from the swindon game on thf
Full match report to follow, that would go something like this.
Imports Holecko, rimko, scored all the goals in tonight's game would read something like this RImko with 5 + 3 and Holeko 4 + 3, , with Hero Holecko playing EXtraliga and world team Slovakia lighting it up in the rec league, hats off to my new hero's
Very well taken doesn't sound bitter at all!
Nice one.
Saturday, July 30, 2011 -- southall#6 from Retirement In Cardiff
I see Swindon still moan like fags, play your hockey and stop looking for simple ways to win the league. If these too guys played for you lot we wouldn't here the last of it so give it a rest and take it like men you have been out played it don't take two players to make a team (granted it helps). Well done boys you have busted your ass this season to get where you are
Saturday, July 30, 2011 -- Steve Baker #22 from Solent
Basingstoke 2 Scorpions 8
Saturday, July 30, 2011 -- Wayne from Cardiff
You may win or lose then hit the booze. Titans booze, then win or lose. Good luck to Swindon and Chelmsford. I am sure it will be a cracker.
Saturday, July 30, 2011 -- scott from swindon
Wayne, Rachel, Andy, Fan from the neutral stands, guys calm down this is a forum and the purpose of this is to post news, gossip, views etc etc, the fact that the summer cupp is getting talked about on the forum is a good thing, if you look at my posts on there i complement both Peter and Thomas and if anything pleased they played in the cup as it only improves the level and players can learn from these guys, Andy in terms of the rules i am sure all is ok and only posted what was on the UK forum, in reading the post below you guys seem to the ones being serious, i have never been serious in all the years i have played, ha ha win or lose hit the booze
I am sure that after our fun bus trip home from chelmsford tonight i may have some more posts for your persual
Saturday, July 30, 2011 -- Fan from The Neutral Stands
The difference here is class. The two Cardiff boys are clearly the best players in the league; however they have had fun for the summer to stay fit and only really got anywhere close to turning it on in the big games, they haven't even played in all Cardiff games. But it appears the Swindon ex pros have had a great time hammering home the points in high scoring wins against the teams lower in the league and sit quite nicely at the top of the scoring charts. From what I understand the Cardiff boys were registered legally and in time and as such lets shut up about the "rec" debate and rules and get on with some playoff hockey. Good luck to all involved.
Friday, July 29, 2011 -- Wayne from Cardiff
Scott, check the rules and check with eiha. Everything Cardiff have done has been above board. They were working in Cardiff for a fellow Titan and asked about hockey which is how the titans got them. Had they been playing for Swindon I am sure you wouldn't have been making such a fuss. I also suspect that had their names been smith, jones, Taylor or any other British name you wouldn't have been kicking off. Get your team to play some of the good London teams and you will see ex-NHL players, ex ahl, ex echl, pro Russian etc etc, all legally registered. If the standard is too high at rec for you, go back to enl. We all play rec for fun, regardless who the opposition ice.
Friday, July 29, 2011 -- andy from cardiff
Scott, get over yourself. if you think a rule has been broken petition the tournament officials in private. If you are simply trying to start a squabble keep kicking players as you did in Cardiff-you won't be so lucky to get away with it with more than one official.
Friday, July 29, 2011 -- mccarthy#50 from cardiff
yes adi if thats what you wanted we could make it happen!
Friday, July 29, 2011 -- mccarthy#50 from cardiff
hardly a debate two guys asked a question redwing 91 posted the same answer rachel has no further discussion about it on there.
Friday, July 29, 2011 -- adi from bristol
does this mean if i went to cardiff, i could of been playing elite league now, instead of enl2, damn it haha
Friday, July 29, 2011 -- Rachel from Cardiff
Both Holecko and Valecko are were fully registered to play Rec before the 27th March as per Summer Cup rules.
Friday, July 29, 2011 -- scott from swindon
Interesting debate started on Hockey forum: QUOTE (Stiffler27 @ Jul 29 2011, 03:05 PM)
Good point roddy good point!! No league players allowed to play rec after that date.
Does this mean cardiff will lose there summer cup points????
From the rule book:
All teams players must be on recreational licenses and registered by 27th March 2011.(Any team icing League registered players, unregistered players, players registered after 27th March 2011 or players with no license and documentation will be deducted 2 Summer Cup points for every unregistered player played, and face possible expulsion from the Summer Cup.)

Looks like my earlier rumour was correct:
Edinburgh Capitals are pleased to announce the signing of power forward Peter Holecko for the 11/12 season in the Elite Ice Hockey League.
Peter Holecko is an experienced Slovakian forward who will bring a wealth of experience from his 431 games in the Slovakian Extraliga. At 6ft 3" and 216lbs, Holecko brings not only size but also great skating and skill levels to the team. He is good friends with recent signing Tomas Valecko and was also a team mate of ex Capitals defenceman Miroslav Droppa.
Holecko commented, "I'm pleased to have signed with the Capitals and am really looking foward to being on a team with Tomas Valecko. I am sure that we can make our mark and have Edinburgh become a team to be reckoned with."
Scott Neil, Edinburgh Capitals General Manager, said, "Scouting reports from agents, ex players and reliable sources in Cardiff are that both Tomas and Peter are good skaters and skilled players. This is typical of what I would expect from players with experience of playing in the Slovakian Extraliga. The guys have been having fun keeping in shape over the summer in Cardiff and will be arriving in Edinburgh early September."

Rumours that Edinburgh are in talks with Rimko, Malfatti, Morris & Poulton are unconfirmed. Scott Neil is yet to return my calls. Cardiff Titans - helping guys reach the Elite League since 1988.

Scotty, monster and skittles were the only way forward in that game poor show from our guys !! only had 6 the previous week @ peterborough !! next season were poaching in swindon !! ha ha! Good luck to all in the playoffs.
Thursday, July 28, 2011 -- Player from Bristol
Awesome! Great exposure for the Summer Cup League. Everyone can now say that they played against him if anyone watches an Elite League game next year. Hopefully he sticks around for the finals as the crowds should be HUGE! Good luck to all teams in the Playoffs.
Thursday, July 28, 2011 -- Steve Baker #22 from Solent
Edinburgh Capitals are pleased to announce that Tomas Valecko (CARDIFF TITANS) has agreed terms for the 11/12 season in the Elite League. Last season he played for HK Spisska Nova Ves & HK Michalovce & Scott Neil, Edinburgh Captials GM, stated, "Tomas is an offensively gifted defenceman who has at the age of 25 played in 153 Slovak Extraliga games & been one of the top points scoring defenceman in the Polish league.
GOOD LUCK
Wednesday, July 27, 2011 -- scott from swindon
I think they had some nuts going with 5 and a goalie but really not a great advert for any level of hockey, hope they had plenty of monster on board
Tuesday, July 26, 2011 -- Wayne from The 'Diff
Hope the injured Swindon plater makes a speedy recovery. Full credit to Bristol for travelling with a short bench. Cardiff have picked up four forfeit wins due to teams not being able to honour fixtures. Bristol would have been better with a 5-0 loss but it speaks volumes about them that they travelled knowing they would get a hiding. Class act boys!!

Fair enough. If managers knew at the start you cannot argue. I didn't know a trophy was given for 1st place. I didn't see one on sunday.
Tuesday, July 19, 2011 -- TIM from SUMMERCUP ORGANISATION
The playoff format for this year has changed, it is 1st play 3rd and 2nd play 4th. This was considered last year and implimented this year as a change for the cup, the rules were supplied to all managers and no concerns were raised. In the old format the 4th placed team who maybe didnt or couldnt be as consistant in the league would always have the best team in the league to play again, with the new format the playoffs are more balanced. The first placed team get recognised by winning the league trophy and then the 4 teams in the playoffs are playing for the playoff cup with the object being to win both. At the start of the cup, no one can determin who they may end up playing anyway as most sides are untested.
Tuesday, July 19, 2011 -- Fan from The stands
Wayne, it is 1st Vs 4th place and 2nd v 3rd... It always has been and always should be.... I think it's just a typo in the rules section ...
Tuesday, July 19, 2011 -- Wayne from Pentwyn (a suburb of Cardiff)
can somebody explain why the play-off format has changed please? The team that now finishes 2nd is pretty much assured of a place in the final. No disrespect to Solent or Peterborough but over two legs it would be near impossible to topple a Chelmsford or Swindon. What reward is there for finishing 1st? It is just in previous years it has always been 1v4 and 2v3 meaning you would get the top two in the final. Sundays game was a great ad for rec hockey also enjoyed by a huge crowd, hopefully the playoffs will be as close and exciting.
